Almost everyone is familiar with that irksome feeling that you have something in the back of your throat. For some, that slight tickle is more than a phantom sensation. It could be a mild but often annoying condition called postnasal drip.<\/p>\n\n\n

What is Postnasal Drip?<\/h2>\n\n

Postnasal drip occurs when excess mucus builds up in your nasal passages and drips down the back of your throat, often leaving you with a persistent tickle or cough. Along with throat irritation, you may experience symptoms like frequent throat clearing, hoarseness and a nagging cough.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This condition can stem from a number of causes, including but not limited to allergies, sinus infections, chronic acid reflux (GERD) and bacterial infections<\/a>. While postnasal drip is not usually serious, it can be uncomfortable, especially if it lingers. Fortunately, there are both medical treatments and home remedies to alleviate symptoms and restore comfort.<\/p>\n\n\n
