Signs of anaphylaxis include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Hives or flushed skin<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Dizziness and\/or fainting<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Wheezing<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Trouble breathing<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Swollen tongue or throat<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Rapid pulse<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Low blood pressure<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The best way to prevent anaphylaxis is to avoid any known triggers. It will not work with the safety cap still on.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.mayoclinic.org\/drugs-supplements\/epinephrine-injection-route\/proper-use\/drg-20072429\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Inject the epinephrine under the skin or into the muscle of the outer thigh only.<\/a> If you inject the medication into a vein or any other part of the body, it will increase your risk of serious side effects. You can inject the pen through your clothing.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If you are using an EpiPen on your child, hold their leg in place and try to limit their movement before and during the injection.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>After the dose is fully administered, call 911.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Safely and properly discard the EpiPen by placing it back in its original container before throwing it away.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"storage-tips\">Storage Tips<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Carry your pen with you at all times<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Check kits regularly to make sure the liquid they contain is clear and colorless.
